Victoria, KS. Herzogfest August 8th 2009

Hi everyone! I’m writing to you from Victoria, KS. Home of the Herzogfest! We just pulled in less than an hour ago and are getting ready to go do sound check. We left last night around midnight, and slept through the night. As we got into Kansas, it started to get really windy! The poor bus driver had quite a battle trying to keep the bus steady. It’s going to be a hot sound check, it’s over 100 degrees right now, but our show will not be until tonight and things will be cooling off by then. Wow, it is windy out there right now though! We’ll be drinking a lot of water today and hanging out in the shade!

(On our Way home!)

Hi! We’re on our way home from our show in Victoria, KS.

Last night rocked! We had a really good show and one heck of a crowd. We had some really nice company show up., Trenna’s dad “Delbert” and a sweet sister who used to tour with us and play kick butt drums, “Bree Plaster.” We all hung out on the bus and caught up on stuff. It was so nice to see Bree and Trennas dad.

The organizers of the festival were so sweet and accommodating. They treated us to lunch, and made sure that we had plenty of snacks, water etc. for the day. There was a bunch of really sweet high school/junior high gentleman that helped Eric out with gear, set up etc.

The wind died down along with the temperatures by show time and the evening gave way to clear skies and a beautiful full moon.

We had so much fun during our show and made a point to go out into the crowd and fiddle away a little.

Afterwards we got to meet everyone, sign CDs, pictures and festival shirts. Trenna even did some “fancy artwork” on a blushing high school gentleman’s chest!

We bussed out around midnight last night and we’re still bussing it home. Trenna just told me that this is “Kenny Rogers” bus. Pretty cool!

Another successful trip, we met some really nice folks and got to hang out with some friends and family. Thank you Herzogfest!

August 2nd New Paltz , NY. Ulster County Fair
Howdy! We left Saturday eve। For a looong bus ride up to New Paltz , NY. It was welcoming though after all of the craziness of the week. We ended up having two drivers for this trip. That was really nice and a lot safer! We
drove though the night, all was well until we hit New Jersey. The bottom dropped out of the clouds and there was torrential rain! The interstates were flooded to the point where traffic was backed up and water was coming up over the wheels of cars. I’d never seen interstates flooded like that before. It slowed our progress getting to the gig by roughly an hour to an hour and a half. By time we got to the outdoor festival, we were to have supposed to already been on stage, but they were totally understanding because their weather had been just as threatening. I think we broke a speed record though by time we did get there. Due to the cool crew that had all dialed up for our arrival, Brice, our drummer flying in from a previous gig and be able to set up his kit, and all of our helpful Thunderheads from radio to help us offload gear. We were sound checked and ready to play within about thirty minutes! We were slated for two shows and even though the weather did affect the crowds a little bit, all went well and us along with the audience had a great time. The weather cleared out too! Having the second driver really paid off, because after the show, we were able to shower and head back home! We ended up getting back the next day a lot earlier than previously thought, which is always cool because it’s always nice to not to have to spend your day off traveling home.
