Visits to WQHK - Ft. Wayne, Indiana, WUSN Chicago, IL. , WMIL - Milwaukee, WI. And WWQM -Madison, WI

Today was a very busy day for us, a lot of traveling! But before we started off on our visits for the day, we went to the Ft. Wayne Airport where our luggage had finally arrived! Yay! Boy we were sooo happy to see our bags being rolled out one by one and in one piece. So when everyone’s stuff was all present and accounted for, we were on our way to our first visit to WQHK.
We’d actually had dinner with Rob Kelley of WQHK the eve before, but we decided to drop by the station anyway since it was so close to the Ft. Wayne airport. We also wanted to take a moment to meet Rob’s assistant program director Dave Michaels.
They both came out to hang on the bus for a visit and Debbie showed off her barista experience by conjuring up cups of Starbucks French press coffee to our guests and talking to them about the whole bean roasting process.
We had to move on quickly though, we had a three-hour trip to Chicago to make and we were hearing about some potentially bad weather.

WUSN – Chicago, IL.
We bussed into Chicago pretty easily, traffic was light and we managed to park out front of WUSN. We got to visit with Mike Peterson and Joe Epperson. We’d actually met Mike 2 years ago when we were in Chicago for a show/radio meet at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was cool to catch up with him. He had just returned from Ireland with Pat Greene. He complimented us on our acoustic set and how tight we sounded. Thanks Mike!
Our visit was short and we all wished that we could’ve had a little more time to hang and take a stroll down Michigan Ave., but we had to move along.

WMIL – Milwaukee, WI.

We managed to catch Mitch Morgan and Kerry Wolfe for a quick bus visit at WMIL in Milwaukee. Mitch was able to hang a little bit longer, but Kerry had to run off, his little girl was doing an art show, but the time we did get was fun!

WWQM Q106 – Madison, WI.

We got into Madison, WI. A few hours later, and dropped in on a listeners party being held by WWQM Q106 at “The Dry Bean Saloon.” The club treated us to a really good dinner and the live music was great. We met Mel McKenzie, and Jennifer Powers. We’ll be dropping by their station tomorrow morning to play so I’m going to close for now and try to get some rest. We’ll need to bundle up though, it’s really chilly up here and there may be some snow in the forecast.
