“Heading out West!”
Monday, April 9th 2007 beginning of week 3
Visits to KSOP and K-BULL
Salt Lake City, Utah

Hello! We’re back for round three of our radio tour! This week we’re heading out west with Eric Mellencamp our radio rep. for the west portion of our trip.
We had a nice straight through flight yesterday eve (Easter), out to Salt Lake City from Nashville. So today our first visit was to KSOP in Salt Lake City, Utah. We’d known this station from back in 2005 when we did the “Native American Celebration.” Hello to all of our Navajo friends! We’d played the festival and got to take in some of the cool sights and pick up some neat jewelry while out here. Debby Turpin, the program director of KSOP came out to our bus first and we played for her, then we ended up going inside the station and doing an on the air visit and play for Kim. We got a kick out of visiting with him and we talked about a lot of cool music gear, especially with Becky about keyboard gear. Everyone was so nice and we took a lot of photos.

After some breakfast/lunch at IHOP and a quick grocery run, we were on our way to K-BULL to see Ed Hill and Pat Garrett.
We’d met up with these guys back at CRS (country radio seminar) in March. We played our acoustic show for them on the bus. We loved the fact that they’d asked us to play something from the seventies. We played “Jet Airliner” and they got a kick out of it. We had a great visit with them!

So now we’re back on the bus and we’re heading out on a long haul out to Sacramento, Ca. We’re looking at roughly a 600 mile trip, arriving at our hotel around 3am. Our first radio visit will be at 10am.
We always get a kick out of coming out West because of all of the unbelievable scenery. The views of the mountains are breathtaking, standing so majestically, capped with snow. Wow! We definitely felt the slight altitude change as opposed to Nashville. Definitely need to catch that extra breath while here!
